The Pleasure of Detachment, 2009

The Pleasure of Detachment by Perry Souchuk

A writer is unable to leave her bed, trapped by her psyche. She struggles to make sense of a dream world, oscillating between anxiety and desire. A surreal journey into the creative subconscious, the play is observed through a mirror with the audience watching performers' reflected images. This technique was inspired by the exercises of Dan Graham, making it seem as though the production is truly happening within a mirage of the mind. Live Sound Effects and DJ.
